Connect - the communication disability network is working within Wandsworth to offer exciting opportunities for people living with aphasia. |
Our free service offers:
· Befriending – we train people with aphasia to visit other people with aphasia in hospital or home. Being a befriender is about having a chat, sharing your experience, showing a friendly face, offering support and encouragement to move forward.
· Conversation Partners – we train and support volunteers to visit people with aphasia in their own home to have supported conversation and get to know the person, particularly when other support options are limited.
· Conversation groups – a chance for people with aphasia to come together in a group for conversation and mutual support.
· A Hub – a forum for people with aphasia to come together and advise on the best way to shape services and provide opportunities for people with aphasia in the borough.
