What is Patient and Public Engagement (PPE)?
Patient and Public Engagement (PPE) includes patients, both present and future, and the public in discussions to encourage opinions and views about the services we offer. This can lead to a more informed service development and change. patient and Public Engagement promotes a cultural change. It is about empowering patients and the public to have a say. It is about professionals in the NHS listening and responding to the views of patients and the public. patient and Public Engagement helps improve patients experience of the NHS.
Patient and Public Engagement Forum at St George's
St George's facilitate meetings for groups of former stroke patients and stroke carers. We meet approxiamtely once every three months to discuss issues around delivery of the stroke service locally and to advise the Medical Schol in regards to planned areas of stroke research.
